Delete all Things data from your devices
Deleting your Things Cloud account only removes the data from the Things Cloud sync servers. Your to-dos still remain inside the Things app on each device that was connected to your account. If you need to remove this data securely from a device:
- On your iPhone, iPad, or Vision, delete the Things app.
- On your Mac, remove all Things-related files like this.
FAQ
- I’ve changed my mind. Can you restore my Things Cloud data?
- No. Once your account is deleted, your data can’t be recovered. But you can always create a new account
- I am selling/returning my device. How do I keep my to-dos for future use?
- On your new device, log in to the same Things Cloud account you’re using on the old device to download your to-dos. On the old device, log out of Things Cloud after the sync. Wipe the old device to protect your privacy, or at least delete the Things app to remove your to-dos from it.
- I don’t remember my Things Cloud password.
- If you don’t remember your Things Cloud password, which is needed to delete your account, please reset your Things Cloud password first.
- I don’t remember my Things Cloud password, and I can no longer access my email.
- If you don’t remember your Things Cloud password, and you also no longer have access to the email address you used to create the Things Cloud account, you will not be able to delete your account. This is for security reasons: the owner of the account must confirm the account’s deletion, and that confirmation can only be sent to the email address that was used to create the account.
If the reason you’re deleting your account is to switch to a different email address, simply create a new Things Cloud account with your new email address.
