Here’s how to check your version numbers and make sure you’re up-to-date.

Some issues may crop up if you don’t keep your software up-to-date, so it’s good to make sure you’re running the most recent versions. Below, we’ll show you how to check what versions you have installed on your devices, and see if newer versions are available.

Mac

Find the version number of Things

  1. On your Mac, open Things.
  2. In the menu bar at the top of your screen, click ThingsAbout Things.
  3. Locate the version number, like Version 3.21.1 (32101500).

Find the version number of macOS

  1. In the menu bar at the top of your screen, click About This Mac.
  2. Locate the version number, like macOS Sequoia 15.1.

Check for a newer version of Things

Sometimes, a newer version of Things will become available. If you have Automatic Updates enabled, Things should update automatically, but you can also check manually:

  1. On your Mac, open App Store.
  2. In the left pane, click Updates.
  3. On your keyboard, hit ⌘ Cmd R to refresh the list.
  4. If a new version of Things is available, click Update and wait for it to download.

Check for a newer version of macOS

Sometimes, a newer version of macOS will become available. If you have Automatic Updates enabled, your Mac should update automatically, but you can also check manually. Here’s how.

iPad & iPhone

Find the version numbers

  1. On your iPad or iPhone, open Things.
  2. Go to SettingsAbout.
  3. Locate the version number of Things, like Things 3.21 and Build 32100000.
  4. Locate the version number of your OS, like iPadOS 18.1 or iOS 18.1.

Check for a newer version of Things

Sometimes, a newer version of Things will become available. If you have Automatic Updates enabled, Things should update automatically, but you can also check manually:

  1. On your iPad or iPhone, open App Store.
  2. Tap your photo/user icon.
  3. In the Account screen that appears, pull down to refresh the list.
  4. Scroll down to view your updates.
  5. If a new version of Things is available, tap Update and wait for it to download.

Check for a newer version of iPadOS or iOS

Sometimes, a newer version of iPadOS or iOS will become available. If you have Automatic Updates enabled, your iOS device should update automatically, but you can also check manually. Here’s how.

Watch

Find the version numbers

  1. Open Things on your Apple Watch.
  2. Tap and hold on the progress ring to open Settings.
  3. Using the Digital Crown, scroll down.
  4. Locate the version number of Things, like Things 3.21 and Build 32100000.
  5. Locate the version number of your OS, like watchOS 11.

Check for a newer version of Things

Sometimes, a newer version of Things will become available. Things on your Apple Watch will be automatically updated when Things is updated on your iPhone. If you have Automatic Updates enabled on your iPhone, this should happen automatically, but you can also check manually:

  1. On your iPhone, open App Store.
  2. In the top right corner, tap your photo/user icon.
  3. In the Account screen that appears, pull down to refresh the list.
  4. Scroll down to view your updates.
  5. If a new version of Things is available, tap Update and wait for it to download.

Minimum Requirements

Please note that if your device is an older model, it might not be able to run a version of the Operating System that Things requires. As a result, you might not be able to purchase, install, or update to the latest version of Things. You can check Things’ minimum requirements here.
