Command-N Create new to-do
Press the Space bar Create new to-do below selection
Option-Command-N Create new repeating to-do
Shift-Command-N Create new project
Control-Space bar Quick Entry (shortcut can be changed in the General pane of Things preferences)
Control-Option-Space bar Quick Entry with Autofill (shortcut can be changed in the General pane of Things preferences)
Return Open or close item for editing
Option-Return or Shift-Return or Control-Return Commit editing and close item while editing a note
Command-. Mark or unmark item as completed
Option-Delete Mark or unmark item as canceled
Press the Down arrow Open the tags drop down menu while editing an item's tags
Command-T Toggle Today
Command-Y Move item to Someday
Command-R Schedule selected item
Shift-Command-F File selected item under a project or area
Command-L Log completed items
Command-Delete Move item to Trash
Shift-Command-Delete Empty Trash
Tab Move focus to the next field or control when editing an item
ProTip: We suggest making the following adjustment in your System Preferences to make your Tab key more powerful in all applications. Go to System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts. At the bottom, you will find a section labeled "Full keyboard access". Set it to "All controls". You will now be able to tab to the Due Date field and the "Where" pop-up menu in the Quick Entry panel with your keyboard.
Press the Right arrow Navigate into project (e.g., in the Projects list)
Press the Left arrow Navigate back to previous list
Tags Shortcut Key When an item is selected, typing adds the corresponding tag. (Each tag can have a keyboard shortcut consisting of a single character. Open the Tags Window to inspect or change these shortcuts.)
Control-Tags Shortcut Key Filter the current list by the corresponding tag
Control-Esc Remove all tag filters
