There seems to be some confusion regarding the visibility of inherited tasks. I will try to clarify with an example:
I have created a demo library with the following setting:
- Area1 is tagged "I'm an area tag - I'm inherited" - Projekt50 is tagged "I'm a project tag - I'm inherited too" - Task1 is tagged "I'm a task tag - not inherited"
Area1 contains Projekt50, which itself contains Task1. I will show you screenshots of the most common lists in Things and where the tags are supposed to show up and where they shouldn't.
Today:
See that Task1 inherited tags from the Area and the project. Also note that the tag bar allows for filtering for both tags.
Next:
Next is grouped by projects and areas. The inherited tag is shown in the project/area heading. Note that all tags are available for filtering in the tag bar.
Single Project view:
No inherited tasks are shown here. You are reviewing a single project, so all tasks would show these inherited tags, which would lead to redundant information and clutter.
Project Focus:
Just like Next the Projects focus shows projects grouped by their respective areas. The inherited tags are shown in the area heading.
