I don't understand Areas (FAQ)

Areas are a further level of hierarchical structure extending projects. They can contain both projects and tasks. While projects are short-term goals that can be completed, an area represents an ongoing responsibility. See also When to Use Tags, Projects, or Areas of Responsibility

To add more structure to your projects, you can put them into different areas. Inside an area you can create new projects with a toolbar button at the bottom.
